Achieve: With this Thai beginner course, you will achieve the A1 and A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Exams: In order to take the exam at any level, you will need to enrol at one of  the Thai language courses. The Thai A1-A2 preparation makes it easier to perform optimally in the test by providing a comprehensive training program engulfing all the aspects. Preparation for the test includes lectures, instructions and practice questions/ sessions which improve your skills and ability to take the test.

Certificate: Hit Lang School  aims to help students who are interested on taking official certifications in Thai to prove their qualifications and students who would like to get a degree in Southeast Asian studies in the future. In order to get a certificate, students will have to complete a course and have a test to pass the exam.

Audience: Everybody who wants to learn Thai: This course offers suitable learning methods for all types of learners.​ A student who is just beginning to learn Thai, or who has no prior knowledge of Thai, is at a pre-A1 level.

About this course: Introduction to Thai language with situational examples and a focus on basic conversation to help the student build a solid and confident foundation in Thai. The aim of the course is to provide a thorough introduction to contemporary Thai. This course is designed for "true" beginners and introduces the basics of Thai grammar. Students will learn how to introduce themselves and greet others; how to give and understand simple directions; and how to ask and answer specific questions. They cover number, colour, personal pronouns, present, past, future tenses, conjugation of verbs and many more. 

Core Course of Study: Thai Language (A1-A2) Levels.Courses are accredited by The No.1 Publisher of Thai language learning materials for non-native Thais and are used by professionals throughout the World. You will get high quality teaching, instruction from a helpful and friendly teacher.

Course length: It takes approximately 200 guided learning hours for a language learner to progress from one level of the CEFR ( Common European Framework of Reference) to the next. However, there are a number of factors that can affect how long it will take to increase your level of Thai, including:

  • Your language learning background

  • The intensity of your study

  • Your age

  • The amount of study/ exposure outside of lesson times

Course Guide: Although progress will depend on the type of course and the individual student, students can expect to reach the A1 level in Thai with 90 to 100 hours of instruction. To get from A1 to A2, it typically requires 180-200 hours of guided learning. These figures are intended as a guideline only. You may require more or less time and support depending on your own needs.

Thai Beginners Course A1

Duration: 3 terms, 10 weeks per term, 3 hours per week. Each term courses are subject to quorum requirements.

Mode of Attendance: Part-time (1 year)

Duration: 3 terms, 10 weeks per term, 6 hours per week. Each term courses are subject to quorum requirements.

Entry Requirements and Progression Route:
A willing to learn Thai .You are expected to attend regularly, participate in oral online live classroom activities or face to face classroom activities and complete homework regularly to ensure learning progress. For the first stage of Thai Beginners (i.e. Beginners A1), no previous knowledge is required. To be able to join Beginners A2), you should have completed Beginners A1  respectively at Hit Lang School or have an equivalent knowledge of guided learning hours 90-100 hours. The progression route from Thai Beginners A 1, is to Thai Beginners A2; Upon successful completion of Thai Beginners A1, you will be able to progress to the Elementary level course in Thai.

A1 - Beginner             

Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.

Can introduce him/ her and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/ she lives, people he/ she knows and things he/ she has.

Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

 

A2 - Elementary        

Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. Very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).

Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.

Can describe in simple aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

Teaching methods: Each course is taught in English and Thai, differentiate lessons using a variety of teaching strategies and proven methods which suite each learner. I also help students learn languages well using linguistics / the scientific study of language,phonetics, semantics and pragmatics.The course is with coverage of the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, and a balance between communicative activities, structure practice and grammar.The emphasis is put on speaking ,listening,writing and reading. The reading and writing exercises are designed to fast-track students to being able to read Thai script accurately. Students will also get to practise conversational skills by acting out pre-written dialogues and customising them.Students will also have live conversations with a teacher in real time during each lesson. You will receive regular feedback from your tutor.
